Flood relief initiative is expected to ease the burden of consumers in Penang and Kedah

Kuala Lumpur, Nov. 15, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) Malaysia will be organising a flood relief in-itiative in the state of Penang and Kedah in efforts to help the victims by offering repair services for LG appliances. The initiative is especially dedicated to ease the burden of the customers after one of the worst floods hit the northern states in recent times.

“We are very saddened that the flood has created major impact to the lives of the people of Penang and Kedah. In view of the situation, our operations have decided to put forward the importance of our customers’ wellbeing by creating a flood relief programme for our customers. The main objective of the flood relief initiative is to secure the continuity of the lives of our customers who are slowly recovering from the recent floods. We hope this small gesture could ease the burden and help our customers to get back on track and move on to a new chapter, said David Oh, Managing Director, LG Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd.

This flood relief initiative will be held from 15th November 2017 – 31st December 2017. During this period, customers can get their damaged appliances repaired at selected service centres*. This is applicable for Carry-In Products such as TVs under 30”, vacuum cleaner, air purifier, monitor, and audio home system excluding mobile phones.

For customers requiring repair service for In-Home products*, they can request by contacting LG care-line at 1800-822-822. An authorised agent will contact customer before scheduling an appointment for the free repair at your home.

LG Flood Relief Initiative Procedures*

1. In-Home (IH) Products

a. TV over 30”, Refrigerator, Washing Machine, Dryer and Air Conditioner
b. Customer is required to call in to LG care-line 1800-822-822 to record their service report and LG will assign authorised service contractor to attend the repair.

2. Carry- In (CI) Products

a. TV under 30”, vacuum cleaner, air purifier, monitor, and audio home system. Exclude mobile phone)
b. Customer to send in the products to LG authorised service centres as listed below.

Support of Services on damaged LG Products in the Flood Affected Areas

The Support being rendered by LG is subject to the following terms and conditions:-

1. Scope of warranty after repairs:

a. In Warranty Repair: the repaired LG products are warranted for the balance of the original warranty period. (Free labour & parts for end users only).
b. Out Of Warranty Repair: one month part & labour warranty from date of repair completion (IH) or from date of end user collection (CI). (Free labour and part discount at 50% except OLED/LED/LTV and Plasma modules discount at 30%).
c. This Campaign is only valid from 15th November 2017 until 31st December 2017.
d. There will not be any form of products exchange and/or refunds of cash for any damaged LG Products in the Flood Affected Areas.
e. This Campaign is applicable for end users only. This Campaign is not applicable to any dealers, resellers and/or distributors.
f. This Campaign only covers inspection of Products, repair services and cleaning on the damaged LG products (subject to the availability of authorized personnel) in the Flood Affected Areas defined below, which was purchased in Malaysia and distributed by LG authorised dealers or distributors only. Any LG Products purchased outside Malaysia are excluded from this Campaign.
g. Repairs of damaged LG Products are subject to parts availability and subject to the conditions of the products’ damages. The products must be repaired by LG authorized service centre.
h. This Campaign only applicable on LG products for which damages caused directly by flood, and LG Products of which are owned by residents at the Flood Affected Areas, defined below. This Campaign is not applicable for any other accidental physical damage due to mishandling, e.g. cracked screen and/or product damaged outside the Flood Affected Area.
i. This Campaign is only valid in the following areas affected by flood recently, i.e. Penang and Kedah:

Balik Pulau
Juru
Sungai Puyu

• Kedah

j. LG reserves the right to change and/or amend the terms and conditions without prior notice. In any event of dispute, LG reserves the right to make the final decision and no further correspondences shall be entertained.
k. LG reserves the right to reject and/or disqualify any repair request if in any event, LG has reasonable suspicion that there is any dishonest, fraudulent or unlawful conduct or behaviour and/or any non-compliance with the Terms and Conditions stated herein.
l. LG reserves the right to cancel this Campaign Terms and Conditions without incurring any liability.
m. This Terms and Conditions herein shall be governed by the laws of Malaysia and in any event of disputes arising thereof shall be referred to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts of Malaysia.
