There comes a moment in every TV’s life when it needs to…“move.” Maybe it’s just as part of a living room re-arrangement. In other cases, it might be across town to a new house. Or even to a new country.
However, with the advanced sets available on the market today, moving a TV safely requires extreme caution and care. Take for example, LG CINEMA 3D Smart TV with its beautiful screen, virtually non-existent bezel, and thin, delicate frame – it’s important to know how to package the TV safely so that it arrives at its new home in tip-top shape.
In this post, we provide step-by-step instructions (with pictures) on how to move your LG TV safely and securely.
Unplug all cables from the TV and package them separately. Use tape to secure the power cord to the TV. Unplugging cables and securing the power cable will prevent scratches during transport.
Cover the screen with multiple towels or soft cloth. Afterwards, cover the screen with bubble wrap for additional protection.
Place the TV into its original box if available. If not, purchase a cardboard moving box from your local hardware or office supplies store.
Once the TV is inside the box, fit cloth or bubble wrap in between the screen and box for additional protection.
In the event that the original box or cardboard packaging is unavailable, lay and secure the TV against a soft surface such as sofa or mattress in the moving van.
Seal the box with heavy-duty tape. For optimal protection, it’s also a great idea to wrap the box in cloth.
Always make sure to stand your TV upright during shipping to sustain its normal position. If space is limited, place the TV downward so that the screen, not the back, faces the floor.
For absolute peace of mind, it’s always a good idea to consider buying insurance in case of possible damages.
So there you have it, your TV is all ready for its move. Happy Moving Day!
