I had an opportunity to witness the glamorous launch of the new LG Chocolate phone (LG BL40) in Hong Kong recently. The new LG Chocolate is the fourth handset in LG’s Black Label Series and successor to the highly-acclaimed LG Chocolate.

Following its inaugural launch in the U.K., the new LG Chocolate’s red carpet event in Hong Kong showcased the phone’s unconventional design direction and highlight its unique partnerships in entertainment and fashion, including collaborations with designer label Twenty8Twelve and Twentieth Century Fox. The event brought together high-profile names who have been inspired by the new LG Chocolate’s unconventional design, viewing and usability features.

Asia’s leading actress Chi-ling Lin from Taiwan and Singapore TV personality and jewelry designer Nadya Hutagalung shared with the audience their personal experience with the new phone. Furthermore, as part of LG’s association with Twentieth Century Fox, the new Chocolate phone will come embedded with content from director James Cameron’s epic 3D fantasy, Avatar. Jon Landau, the film’s producer, was on hand in Hong Kong to introduce exclusive footage of this highly-anticipated movie.

Minimalistic while sleek, the new LG Chocolate breaks from standard mobile phone designs with its disruptively different 4-inch wide screen. Featuring a stretched 21:9 ratio HD panoramic display, the mobile experience has been reinvented by LG for a better user experience when browsing web pages, checking e-mails or viewing videos on the new LG Chocolate’s cinema-like screen.

The BL40 will be available in Malaysia by end of November 2009. In meantime, enjoy the up-close pictures taken during the launch event. In meantime, our tickets giveaway for Da Vinci The Genius will be finishing soon, bloggers & netizens check out more here ya! Life’s Good!
