LG’s 27EA83 Monitor Has been Honored with One of the Imaging Industry’s Highest Accolades

LG Electronics (LG) announced that its ColorPrime (27EA83) monitor has been named the “Best Photo Monitor” of 2013 by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA). Ideal for filmmakers, photographers and graphics professionals, LG’s award-winning monitor features In-Plane Switching (IPS) display technology, an incredibly high resolution and a wide color palette.

The LG ColorPrime delivers astounding picture quality, boasting the incredible clarity of WQHD (2560×1440) resolution and the ability to accurately reproduce 99 percent of the Adobe RGB color space. This monitor can also be quickly rotated 90 degrees, enabling users to choose the screen orientation that best suits the specific demands of their work. Each ColorPrime monitor is factory calibrated and comes with a certificate confirming that it has been fine-tuned by an LG imaging expert. To further ensure consistent and accurate color performance, LG also offers hardware calibration including an external color calibrator that has been optimized to LG’s monitor.

The ColorPrime monitor achieves true-to-life picture quality thanks to LG’s advanced IPS display technology, which also helps to reduce user eyestrain. An interesting segment on ‘Refrigerator Etiquette – keeping your fridge organised, clean and efficient’ was recently featured on the Bella talk show by NTV7. The host interviewed Shashidaran A/L K.Krishnan, Product Manager of LG Home Appliances, who shared many useful tips on refrigerator dos and don’ts such as where the coldest part of the fridge was, and how often a user should clean out their fridge.

Various cutting-edge product features on the LG refrigerator were introduced during the show, such as the Air Tight Crisper, which keeps vegetables fresher longer, and the built-in filtration system that eliminates 99.99% of bacteria in the fridge.

Setting New Standards in Energy Efficiency, Reliability and Durability for Superior Cost Savings

Air conditioners generally consume more electricity than other home appliances. LG is firmly committed to creating the most energy efficient solutions possible, capable of operating effectively while using less electricity. LG’s new Artcool and Deluxe air conditioners boast powerful yet silent performance while minimising energy consumption by up to 60 percent.

Powered by LG’s revolutionary Inverter V Technology, when combined with the company’s unique BLDC compressor, the Artcool Inverter V and Deluxe Inverter V air conditioners operate at maximum speed to reach the desired temperature quickly. Once that is achieved, LG’s Inverter V units adjust and constantly vary the compressor speed to maintain the desired temperature, which helps to reduce power consumption. This is unlike any conventional air conditioner that turns the compressor on and off, thereby consuming more power. Furthermore, the addition of a delicate torque control enables the compressor to operate at the minimum hertz level, thus increasing energy efficiency by consuming less electricity.

Raising the Bar with Perfected Health Care for Better Peace of Mind

LG has also developed innovative filtration systems and features that help protect users from harmful particles such as germs, allergens, viruses and dust, while purifying the air.

Underpinning these health benefits is LG’s latest technology, the Plasmaster^TM. LG has dedicated tremendous resources in the research of plasma technology, which enables both negative and positive ions to coexist and react with airborne moisture. The LG Plasmaster technology is available in the Artcool Inverter V and Deluxe Inverter V units, while the Standard models include a triple filtration system. Additionally, all the new LG air conditioners also come with a Dual Protection Filter.

The Artcool and Deluxe models also carry the Plasmaster Auto Cleaning feature prevents the build-up of moisture within the interior, stopping bacteria, germs and mould from growing inside the heat exchanger.

The core technology of LG washing machines has achieved a new mark of excellence in quality standards.

LG’s top and front loading washing machines are equipped with the Inverter Direct Drive – a motor which controls the actions of its tub and washing motions. Recently, LG’s direct drive motor was tested and certified by the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE) to have a life-cycle of 20 years (equivalent to 4,400 wash cycles).

The VDE is one of the largest technical and scientific associations in Europe with over 35,000 members. This certification of international standards confirms the reliability and durability of LG’s washing machines, and serves to provide customers with greater peace of mind.

LG showcased an impressive range of localized, energy efficient home appliances at the 2013 LG Innovative Festival (InnoFest), held in Berlin from April 10 to 11. The successful event was attended by approximately 300 of LG’s business partners and other stakeholders from all across Europe.

LG’s latest home appliances, including its Eco-Hybrid washer-dryer andenergy grade A+++ refrigerators, boast a number of innovative features and cutting-edge technologies. By strengthening its lineup of premium and mid-end appliances tailor-made for each market, LG aims to reinforce its strong global position and become the number one home appliance brand in the world by 2015.

“When purchasing home appliances, European consumers rank energy efficiency, convenience and innovative designs very highly,” said Seong-jin Jo, president and CEO of the LG Home Appliance Company. “We know these are high priorities because we are always listening to our customers and carefully monitoring industry trends in order to better meet the needs of today’s consumers.”

LG sees consumer insights as a key factor in LG’s ability to differentiate itself from the competition. As a component of this endeavor, LG operates refrigerator consumer lifestyle labs in Germany and Spain, as well as a washing machine research lab (also in Germany) and a design lab in London. Each specialized facility enables LG to develop products that are capable of meeting the real-world needs of today’s busy, environmentally conscious consumers. On display at this year’s LG InnoFest in Berlin were the company’s new Eco-Hybrid washer-dryers — 12 kg washing and 8 kg drying — and 9 kg freestanding dryers. With water and energy consumption prices on the rise, the new washer-dryers from LG are highly suited to European consumers looking for ways to save both water and energy through their home appliances. Conventional washer-dryers normally utilize water during the drying cycle. LG’s new washer-dryers, on the other hand, deliver incredible A-grade energy efficiency through a convenient Air-drying mode that complements the conventional drying mode. This saves the consumer up to 6,900 liters of water per year.[1] What’s more, LG’s Eco-Hybrid dryers feature an Eco mode and a Speed mode with the former using approximately 50 percent less energy than conventional dryers[2] while the latter is 30 percent quicker.[3]

The new washer-dryers are equipped with LG’s proprietary 6 Motion Direct Drive, offering consumers better washing performance and enhanced fabric care. By using a combination of different motor movements to deliver customized washing for various types of clothes, the 6 Motion Direct Drive enables fewer wrinkles and less damage to fabrics.

Along with energy saving washers and dryers, LG also offers the industry’s first A+++ energy rated bottom-freezer refrigerator and double layered Door-in-Door system. LG’s refrigerators provide customers with enhanced energy savings as well as the most convenient food storage and access options. LG offers further value to European consumers with exceptional products such as the Charcoal Lighting Heater™ oven, the HOM-BOT SQUARE robotic vacuum cleaner, and TrueSteam™ equipped dishwashers.

By showcasing a variety of differentiated appliances that feature premium technologies and innovative designs at competitive prices, LG is providing consumers with a wider varietyof choices. LG Electronics will be the first to offer the incredible convenience of PayPal on its Smart TV platform. Available now on 2013 LG Smart TVs available in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, the feature will also be included in LG Smart TVs in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Australia starting this month with other markets to follow.

This highly secure, digital payment system provides an easy and secure way for consumers to purchase products and services directly through their LG Smart TV. The integration of PayPal into the LG Smart TV platform will also open the door to greater opportunities for a number of stakeholders, furthering the growth of a more vibrant Smart TV ecosystem.

“LG and PayPal will create a more user-friendly Smart TV experience, enabling the user to make faster, more secure digital payments,” Richard Choi, senior vice president of the Smart Business Center at LG Electronics. “PayPal significantly reduces the number of steps the user has to take in order to complete a transaction; saving them time by eliminating the need to enter credit card and address details for each subsequent purchase. Fast and Convenient Smart TV Content Purchases

PayPal is the perfect match for the Smart TV platform, allowing consumers to quickly authenticate their identity and make their desired purchase. The user can enter the appropriate digits via a traditional remoteor by using LG’s Magic Remote to control the digital onscreen keypad. It puts an end to the annoyance of having to enter the same email address, password and credit card number again and again. PayPal also offers a convenient opt-in “remember me” option for even more frictionless purchasing.

The 2013 LG Innovative Festival (Innofest), held in Cancun, Mexico from April 4 to 6, provided an opportunity for LG’s business partners and other stakeholders from across South and Central America to see and experience a range of impressive products designed to deliver savings, convenience, performance and better health. With approximately 300 participants, the event highlighted LG’s efforts to strengthen its global position and become the number one home appliance brand by 2015.

Major products featured in the lineup included LG’s Door-in-Door refrigerator, 6 Motion Direct Drive washing machine, Charcoal Lighting Heater oven and HOM-BOT SQUARE robotic vacuum cleaner. All of these products reflect LG’s commitment to developing premium products and technologies that will set global trends as well as cater to local market needs. In order to carry out this commitment in South and Central America, LG plans to invest heavily in regional R&D and implement a localization strategy where regional specialists will be used to gain deeper insights into the needs of local consumers.
