The My Starz LG Season 3 auditions, held in 5 locations nationwide between August 1st and October 4th, received overwhelming response as thousands of participants between the ages 18 to 25 years showcased their talents. Despite facing strong competition, the ten finalists clearly stood out above the rest, impressing the panel of judges with their vocal ability, charisma, stage presence, personality and charm.
The talented would-be superstars are; Maisarah Ismail (Sarah), Nur Lydazura Abd Aziz (Lyda), Senisah Majilin (Chind), Raja Farah Afzal Raja Ikram (Tom), Nor Shahida Jamaluddin (Sha), Ahmad Azam Pit (Azam), Jaymeral Henry Monis (Jay), Muhamad Hafidz Muhamed Kamal (Apiz), Noorsyaiful Md Zalaludin (Epul), and Muhammad Farid Anuar (Farid).
The selected ten will now move on to perform over 12 exciting episodes in front of their fans and an exclusive panel of judges. Hosted by Nazruddin Habibur Rahman (Naz), these weekly live concerts will be held every Sunday at the Sri Pentas 2, Plaza Alam Sentral, Shah Alam. The first five episodes will be aired from 10.30-11.30pm, with the subsequent episodes to come on half an hour earlier, from 10.00pm to 11.00pm.
Viewers can also keep up with the happenings throughout the training sessions by watching the Star Lives segment, which is half an hour re-cap on the students’ progress throughout the week, aired every Saturday at 7.30pm. This segment will be hosted by Puteri Andreanna Syigim (Anne).
They will also receive tutoring and professional advice as well as training support from advisors made up of Malaysia’s top performers and producers throughout the 12 weeks at the My Starz LG Studio located at on the ground floor of Anggerik Mall, Shah Alam. The studio is conducive for inspired music making and will also function as a premise for the grooming of the next Malaysian superstar.
Results from the weekly concerts will be 100% based on SMS votes by viewers. However, the judges will have the power to decide the fate of the two lowest-ranked qualifiers. Securing the permanent seat on the Panel of Judges is professional producer Azhar bin Abu Bakar, also known as Azmeer. He will be joined by guests jury who will make an appearance throughout the season offering their advice.
The team of advisors consists of singer and songwriter Damian Mikhail, who will provide vocal training and also direct music for the finalists, and renowned choreographer Sazlan Mat Adnan, who will be the mastermind behind their dance moves, as well as an image consultant.
