Korean Language & Hangul Learning in LG Malaysia

With the Korean Wave phenomenon splashing throughout the South East Asia with its dramas, catchy pop songs & B-Boys dances, the Korean language & Hangul are no longer an alien to Malaysians. Many Malaysians would have know how to do simple greeting like 'ahn-yong ha sey-yo' & 'kam sa ham ni da'

As an employee of LG Malaysia, I had recently attended the Korean language & Hangul learning class initiated by the Human Resource Department. Classes are held every Tuesday & Thursday coached by 2 lovely Malaysians graduated from the Korean university, Sophia & Cindee.

The very first class that I had attended was all fun and I thought this blog will be a good platform to share what I had learned with all readers of LG Life's Good blog. It will only be essential to start with a simple greeting introduction in Korean.

안녕하세요
(ahn-yong ha sey-yo)
Good morning, good evening, hello

저는 ….name……입니다
(cho-nen …name….ib ni da)
I am...(your name)...

만나서 반갑습니다
(man-na so ban-gap sem ni da)
Nice to meet you

감사합니다
(kam sa ham ni da)
Thank you

If you have notice, the very first line will be the greetings in Hangul which followed by the romanized pronunciation. Hangul is the native alphabet of the Korean language. It was created back in the mid-fifteenth century.

Thanks to both teachers, now I can write my name in Hangul.

Life's Good!

Wow... I knew that Sophia was working in LG..

didn't know she'd end up teaching hangul ( but
that does make sense anyways!) ^^

It's rare to find many malaysians who can speak & write hangul.

btw, it should be chonen... "im"-ni-da. the writing is "ib" but the reading is "im". a korean grammar-convert-to-reading rule.
